Hopster games
Monster Match
Art/UX/UI/Animation
Monster Match is a simple shape matching game where kids choose shapes that match the monster outline. It teaches kids to recognise that there are many different shapes, and if they drag the correct shape to match with the monster, they get a monstrously fun reaction!
ALPHABET HOTEL
Game design/Concept Art/Animation/Project management
Alphabet Hotel is a literacy based game that encourages children to explore all the letters and sounds of the alphabet as well as teaching many important digraph combinations. It’s a perfect, playful introduction to phonics which will gradually build kids’ confidence and reinforce their letter/sound correspondence.
During the production of the game I worked with educational experts to get the best educational experience out of the different mechanics I designed in the game.
LEARN ABOUT DINOSAURS
Game Design/Project management/Art/UI/UX/Animation
When I designed Learn about Dinosaurs I created a template that could work for many topics. This would be the first of a number of projects.
In this game kids will learn and use thematic vocabulary related to dinosaurs and parts of their bodies.
Learn to recognise the difference between different dinosaurs and the concepts of carnivore and herbivore.
Develop decision making skills by choosing correct food or correct parts of the body for each dinosaur.
Strengthen creative skills mixing up different parts of each dinosaur to create their own dinosaur.
hopster sense
Game Design/Art/UX/UI/Animation
Much like a sensory room, Sense combines a range of stimuli including lights, colours and sounds, to help children develop and engage their senses. It offers kids, particularly those with autism and other special educational needs, an inclusive experience with a focus on developing essential fine motor and sensory skills.
Sheep Count
Game Design/Art/UX/UI/Animation
In Sheep Count, children learn how to count from 1 to 10 by tapping the sheep on their way to the barn disco. Parents can expect plenty of giggles, even from the youngest users as they watch the animals’ celebratory dance in the barn when they complete a new level.
Frogsums
Art/Animation
Frog Sums supports children’s early number recognition and counting skills through matching numerals with object quantity. Kids will enjoy catching the flies with the frog’s slimy, wriggly tongue and giggle when the frog belches out the unwanted numbers.
ROCKFLIP
Art/Animation
Learn how to grow your own virtual plant. This is a great game that encourages children to think about what real plants need to grow and develop in the environment.
Bubble beat
Game Design/Art/UX/UI/Animation
Bubble Beat encourages kids to listen and play back a series of notes from popular nursery rhymes on a coral keyboard at the bottom of the sea. It uses the solfege technique to introduce kids to the concept of pitch and the relationships between notes in the diatonic scale.
